Question by Lucy: What is the correct way to hold a pencil?
I hold my pencil using the accepted tripod grip (holding with pad of thumb and pad of index finger supported by the side of the middle finger; you might want to look it up). I think.
However, just recently holding a pencil has started to hurt. The edge of the pencil is hurting my middle finger. Do I grip it too hard?
I don’t want to spend money on grippers because they are annoying. I don’t like them and generally avoid them when I can.
Am I holding it correctly? What can I do to solve this problem?

I think I learned in my art class that you should hold it by your index, middle, and thumb, pinched between the three, using your shoulder to draw with it.
