Question by : How can I create a cool, polished logo for my band?
I am a member of a band called ADAPT, and we are made up of a few 14-15 year-old’s who cover bands such as Led Zeppelin and Van Halen. Now for a while we have been trying to get a band logo going, but I consider myself an artist and I didn’t want it to be designed by some company, so I designed one myself. It took a while and many steps, but I finally made one. I know exactly what colour I want, I have all the exact measurements and I know what it looks like.
The only problem is I drew it on paper, then I scanned it to my computer. The only thing I need is a program to make logos. I all want is to convert what I have into something that’s polished and looks professional. Does anyone know of a program/service where you can input exact measurements, angles etc. to get a crisp design? Or convert a picture into a polished logo?
If it helps I have a Bamboo Create (pen drawing tablet), and some programs I have are Adobe Photoshop Elements 9, Autodesk SketchBookExpress 2011 & Corel Painter Essentials 4.
Thanks very much, and please if you think you have any useful information at all, don’t hesitate to contribute. This will help me a lot!

Just use Photoshop. I’m not too sure how you can get it any more “polished” than that.

For logos use illustrator but you could use photoshop. Illustrator is the better choice because you can scale vector images and they don’t lose quality. However you might not be able to afford illy.
Your logo should also be clear and be able to be printed in black and white and at large and small sizes.

These are aimed at designers but they may help, they also mention vector vs bitmap and illustrator
