How can I clean the connections on my power window button in my 98 Nissan Altima?

Question by Scott V: How can I clean the connections on my power window button in my 98 Nissan Altima?
Thus far I have taken the power window console out and removed the faulty button. I see two cradle/toggle connections, which both need to be pushed in the same direction in order to operate the window. The connection on the left works perfect, the right is touch and go (currently i have replaced the panel, but left the button off and am using a ball point pen tip to manipulate the metal connections). My problem is that I have been unable to disassemble the parts any furter. I have tried rinsing the two connections as they remain in position, but this has proven unfruitful. The original button no longer works at all, but the ball point pen works but is quite a pain and I look like an ass on dates. Do I need to buy a whole new power window control console or can I fix this? If I need to buy a new part, where can I find it?

You can purchase electronic oil that helps with connections but you are going to need to purchase a new panel, they are not designed to be serviced. If you look on ebay I’m sure you can find one for pretty cheap.
