In particular, the development of next generation pens has focused on the grip and gel type materials that will adapt pleasantly around the user’s hands. The Gel Grip is often made from a semi-solid chemical bound known as Cationic polymers, or positively charged polymers.

Gel significantly reduces the pressure and has been reported to decrease symptoms and problems with coordination and loss of control of movement arising in the basal ganglia of the brain.

There are a number of gel grip pens on the market, and related cousin “rubber-grip” pens that provide a comparable quality writing experience.
